World Between: Chapter 4 Part 2

Meisa quietly opened the large doors as Cain and Anna went for the gem swirled together a fire tornado. Ozzy shuffled his way back inside while two church members went straight for him. Meisa fully extended her telescope, and swung creating a fierce breeze that pushed everyone forward.
“Still using the cowards way out I see.” Nolk shooting a light arrow.

“You’re one to talk.” Meisa replied as Ozzy charged forward, and took the full force of the piercing light with no effort. “At least I’ve got something I care about on the field.” Meisa swiped her telescope down. Blowing too much oxygen on to the small flame on Ozzy’s shoulders for them to continue. 

Realizing Meisa could protect Ozzy. Cain stopped holding back, and unless a massive explosion of purple fire. Exhausting, but effective. Ozzy stood behind him as recovered with seven church members collapsed on the ground. 

Anna, Nolk, and three others continued a ranged magic fight. Various types of arrows, and magical projectiles flying about. Anna made a good show of pretending to be hit before swirling whatever was thrown at her back around.

It’s getting tougher and tougher to keep for Anna and Cain to keep up. Until everyone heard a crackling and then cracking. Ozzy wound up one last punch and shattered the Light Gem. “Three down…” Meisa whispered to herself as the building quaked all around them. Church members scrambled past her almost shoving her over multiple times. “Cowards...” she whispered as Ozzy carried Cain outside. “You coming?!” As Anna stood there looking at where the gem once was.
“It doesn't matter, does it?” Anna replied.

“Is this really where you wanna-” A beam fell next to Meisa as Anna fell to her knees. She held one arm out behind, and chucked Ozzy back into the destruction. Several chunks of wood fell on him as he carried Anna out, but nothing a golem would’ve noticed.

“Farseeker, Ordendra” the words barked out just as soon as Meisa and Ozzy appeared.
“Captain Belinder.” Meisa replied formally marching up before saluting.

“Your report?” The captain stood unwavering with five other Realm-Breakers behind him.
“The Order of Lydurain was housing an unstable elemental gem which was shattered as a consequence of their refusal to surrender. I believe this action was the best way to…prevent casualties”

“Then there are no casualties?” The Captain replied.

“While I have not a head count, I believe I was the last one inside.” Meisa answered. “Though with recent reports I have concerns about where the other members of this group are.”

“Lydria insisted she could handle them, Miss.” One soldier reported. 

“Two versus one?” The Captain asked, and the soldier nodded. “Yes, I don’t think we’ll have anything to worry about tonight either.”

“I don’t know… Odina should’ve won too.” Meisa replied.

“She did.” Anna said. “Or could’ve… even if we got the gem, first. At least, be gentle with Cain. He has his reasons.”

“You’ll come peacefully then?” The Captain replied as soldiers surrounded Anna.

“Could you-” Anna replied.

“At your interrogation.” The Captain replied, and Anna followed the soldiers in the handcuffs.

“Sir?” Meisa questioned. “I think she’s realized that-”

“Other Realm-breakers are suggesting that most of the group either knows or is close to knowing. Seems they found a way into the old archive.”

“I… See… so the plan…” Meisa spoke slowly before Captain Belinder placed a hand on her shoulder.

“Been a while hasn’t it?” The Captain asked.

“I was wondering if you’d ever recover… uh, si-” Meisa attempted to correct herself.

“It’s not necessary. Not anymore…” The Captain replied.

“The plan isn’t the only thing changing, huh?” Meisa stated with a hint of smug.

“You are to act as though the plan has not changed.” Captain Belinder replied. “Per protocol you are to take a week leave for the trauma you’ve experienced. And Ozzy?” Ozzy saluted. “Thank you… for everything.” Meisa saluted as well seeing the Captain off.
