“Hmm?” oh! Welcome to the Rabbit Hole carnival.” Renee yawned. “What drink will be your festival?”
“ A Mystic Fire. and name’s Anna.” Anna said.

“One Mystic Fire coming up, Anna” Renee replied, and mixed it up. “First Mystic Fire we’ve served in a bit.”

“Yeah?” Anna said, and took a swig. “Well it’s pretty good. But I’ll go if you were closing up?”

“I was, but only because we hadn’t got people tonight.” Renee said. “Which has just changed so you stay for as long as you like.”

“You’re not gonna close soon?” Anna asked. “I’m mean if were prepping to I can—”

The Rabbit Hole is open until its last customers leave. We’re here for as long as you need us to be.” Renee replied. “I was just wrapping the place up, because we weren’t getting any one. Funny thing, I saved the mugs for last, which I don’t normally do.”

“Well then. Maybe they were waiting for someone” Anna replied.

“Maybe, but what are they waiting for?” Renee asked. “Why did Anna walk in tonight?”

“Because I’m hoping it changes him back, I guess.” Anna replied. “I’m hoping the man I fell for is still in there.”

“And you’ve told him that?” Renee said.

“Yes! Several times, and he’s noticed it.” Anna said. “Or at least made mention of it. And… And not like the other abusers or something. He wants to be back to who he was.”

The bell rang again. “I’m just where I wanna be.” Kevin said “name’s Kevin. I’ll take…”

“He’ll take an apple Fruit Pyro.” Anna said. “When did you follow me?”

“I didn’t.” Kevin replied. “I saw you eying this place for a while now, and I figured if you went any place, it would be here.”

“Why here?” Anna asked. “We have never been here.”

“Yeah, and I’ve been trash lately.” Kevin said. “Stuck on this one project with my boss, and he's as exhausting as he's ever been.”

Renee planted a new mug down in front of Kevin. “And you've taken that out on her? You know that is not good for either of you.”

Kevin took a swig. “... what is this again?”

“An apple Fruit Pyro…” Anna said. “Apple always your favorite, and we both love spicy so I—”

“Anna, sweetheart?” Renee replied. “He’s got something to say.

“I’m sorry.” Kevin said. “I’ve been busy and stressed, and just need someone to take it out on. And only after you left did I realize that is… it should have been pushed on the woman I care about.”

“Kevin…” Anna replied. “I didn’t go dating you for a year just to have you keep secrets!”

Renee coughed. “I may do the other bartending here? Why a Fruit Pyro?”

“Because I like my spice a bit more favored.” Kevin said. “She ordered a Mystic Fire?

“Why do you know that?” Anna asked.

“It… seems like you drink?” Kevin said. “You always like mystery and we bonded over spice. I just figured you take one like on the menu, and order it… Did I do something wrong?”

“You two just let me know when your reflection needs a refill.” Renee said. “I’ll be doing some cleaning up.”
