Malarkey's Hope -- Fool's Gold

So that was it, huh? Another questionable, at best, primary tolerated. Policies people want, such as medicare, and policies we need, such as the green new deal, water down as a starting point. A DA who has kept innocent people in jail for VP in times where police brutality should be clearer than it has. Normalcy and nothing fundamentally changing for “electability”. This was, and should’ve been the easiest race to win. But like 2016 people seem to have a reluctance for listening to themselves.

Medicare for all polls at 70% across the country, and every democratic candidate that supported it won their races swing state or otherwise. Yet the party pushed for a president who doubled down on vetoing it in a country dealing with 200,000 deaths from a pandemic. The Green New Deal stands at 65%, and I’ve had to listen to scientists telling about all the points of no return we crossed since Obama. Yet the party pushed for a president that will “listen to the scientists” while not banning fracking. A stimulus bill was sitting on Mitch Mcconnell’s desk while the democratic did nothing to prevent the Senate ramming through another supreme court justice. 71% of people live paycheck to paycheck. 71% of a country letting the soon to be first trillionaire, Jeff Bezos, live within its borders. And all I’ve heard is the same old 2016 lines, that I’m clearly not the only one tired of.

The stance of the democratic party can not continue to be nothing. The answers to terrible plans can not continue to be “we’re working on it.” If you can’t figure this out after the last two elections I’m marking you down as the problem. If you somehow still diluted yourself into the belief that no Trump vote can be reason with, you are the problem. Because people, for all grandstanding, are primates. And like every other primate, like every other animal, make them afraid and they’ll do something stupid. They look out for themselves, because that is the option they have left. This last four years you got Trump, a con man known to crash and burn. Next time I doubt we’ll be so lucky.

We might with Trump allegedly planning to run again in 2024, but I would rather we not listen to Nancy Pelosi this time. I would rather we make her debate the first opponent she had in 30 years. I would rather we secure the rust belt with the things it actually needs. I would rather that not be clean water, and jobs right now too, but, at least, those are pretty simple things to do. I would rather a slight improvement, if we get even that, to people’s lives not hinge on someone else’s failure to handle a plague. I… I’m just tired. For all Trump’s empty talk, I am tired of winning. I’m tired of poll after poll showing the leftism of the electorate. Tired of watching every policy I like win swing state races.

I’m tired of ideas neither of these two parties would ever even think to pick up being overwhelmingly popular. I’m tired of hearing about things we can't afford only for 7 trillion dollars to get injected into the stock market. I’m tired of hearing about how great normalcy is going to be when people voted for Trump under that same normalcy. I’m tired of being told that the status quo is working when I’m far from the only one going insane in it. I’m tired of being one of the crazy left ones in my family only to have the sound candidate massively unperformed. I’m tired of winning, and getting nothing for it.
