Phil met at the bar before sleeping as requested.

“Phil!” Myrija shouted at him from across their table at the bar. Obb tried to slide slightly away, probably thinking she’d want some more space. But her lower right arm grab his right side, and put him back. Her two left arms, and one her of 4 legs apparently enough for her. “How could you say that to her?!”

“Are we really gonna make it this hard to get a couple of days with your girlfriend?” Rob questioned.  “If that’s how they both what is he supposed to say?”

Myrija sighed. “I guess since I don’t know what memories actually happened, it’s more understandable.”

“I know what’s been happening!” Phil stated. “And I want a couple of days to process it, dammit.”

Myrija opened her mouth to speak, but Obb grabbed her shoulder.  She closed her mouth as she turned to look at him. “You remember the Clockwork’s Castle level?”

“In that video game? Fated Curse? Yeah but what’s that got to do with…. Oh you’re kidding.” Phil stated as Myrija tilted her head.

“So normally in the game, you would choose an item to help get through the level. With the exception of levels like Clockwork’s Castle.” Obb began explaining. “Because every single passageway, gate, lever, and a bunch of other things, were every state they could be at the same time.” Myrija’s eyes widen and she nodded singling Obb had the right idea. “And if I understand this right, that’s basically where you and I are. But someone else has the hourglass… kind of.”

“Not someone else per say.” Myrija clarified. “You just don’t have control. You see what you want to. Now, if you only have either a dark or shadow atonement, magic like this is manageable. But when you have both, like Sofia, you’re gonna feel the side effects.” Myrija had a sad look on her face now. “And whatever you think happened, it’s not what she remembers.”

There was a long pause before Phil sighed. “Okay, I go over and-”

“No. I’d say see what you remember.” Myrija admitted. “Honestly she should do the same. Because the odds that either of you have a clear picture right now, are basically nothing. And if you were really willing to tell her to back off like that, then that something she needs to hear. Delaying it wouldn’t have helped.” She could tell Phil wasn’t convinced. “Look, I got angry thinking about her like that, I’ll admit. But your memory show you what YOU want, and that’s what really matters here.”

Phil returned to his apartment with Myrija’s words in mind. While Sofia was her friend. It seemed like she was doing her best to stay objective. And that she would rather Phil showed the honestly he did than continue letting Sofia think otherwise. He stumbled home and unlocked his apartment door. But her the sounds of hooves stomping before he could open it. He jolted upright, and looked around. The hallway’s lights were on like always, but there didn’t seem to be anything there.

“Boo.” Sofia stated somehow between him and door. Phil practically jumped away and she just giggled. There was something far more menacing in Sofia’s pure yellow eyes. But she said nothing else, and just held up her stuffed panda bear in front of him. Suddenly his world went dark until he somehow manage to get up. It seemed more difficult than it should have been. A loud feminane chuckle boomed from above. And as he looked up Phil realized Sofia now tower above him. “Thanks for the bear~ At it made a good container~” She raise her left hoof up, and nearly stomped him. The regular world around transition into the normal nightmare maze. Sofia scream at him “IF I CAN’T HAVE YOU, NO ONE CAN!” and using various parts of her body to attempt to crush Phil’s stuffed animal body. Phil was nearing the end when he saw Sophia in a cage. Navigating a seemingly endless amount of danger to rescue her, and somehow the completing the maze by doing this

“Phil?” Myrija answered her phone. She saw Sofia perked up, and turn towards in the background. “I gave you this number specifically so you wouldn’t have to talk to Sofia if you didn’t want to.” Sofia turned away again. “You mean a lot to Obb, which I’m pretty sure you realize. But while I’m not going to betray that, I’m not in control of what she overhears at the moment.” Myrija listen patiently, and did her best to make Sofia was mostly making breakfast. “Okay. Now there’s one story about that happening, and that guy supposedly did Bal’ Stale magic 3 times.” That obviously got Sofia’s full attention, but it couldn’t be helped. There really was only one story. “Phil, look, I THINK she could make you FEEL like that happened.” Sofia nodded. “For like… an hour maybe 2 tops. But I will personally promise you, on my relationship with Obb, and that even that takes a ton out of you.” There was a long silence before Myrija said by and hung up.
