“For your information, dad. I had a great night, and probably better than Brandon could ever manage” Amber said.

“Well she had one good night at least,” Collin replied. “Her art is almost done too”

“Test me one more time, and I'm coming back ever… No i’m completely serious… I don't know, but it would be better than coming back to you.”

Collin sighs as he listened to her, and lets Amber yell as she hung up, and then turned her phone off. After it rang several time “Your welcome to stay here until the contest is done at least.”

Thank you.” Amber said. “I’m sorry about all that.”

“No worries you um… need sometime?” Collin asked.

“Yeah, sometime sounds good” Amber said, and walked Collin leave”stupid….” She set her head on the bedstand. “You love him, Amber, least you could do is make the first move.”. Amber and shake herself awake, and stared at her painting. Think out before she started adding to to it,
Collin’s parents watched as he slinked away. “I’m fine… she just needs some space.”

Both went to bed though Amber did sleep well got up early than normal only to still find breakfast ready. “If I need to go you can say it..”

“And where would you go then, dear?” Nina asked.

“I don’t know some hotel, maybe?” Amber replied. “Somewhere where I'm not as much of problem.”

“My husband and I got into plenty  of fights.” Nina said. “Couldn’t count the number their been some bedroom yelling."

“Okay, but it's my dad.” Amber said.  “Surely I should keep it down? Or not take it out on him at least.”

“Hun… that you that at all makes you better than your dad.” Nina said. “Now whatever you do. At least make sure you're safe.”

Collin walked down to the smell of some good breakfast. Amber pulled him in and full on made out with him. Refusing to let him go until she was done. “Consider that an apology. And I suppose I need a new watcher now?”

“Apology accepted and no… both my parents can still watch us..” Collin replied, clearly still in a bit of a daze.

“Well I did finish my art piece anyways.” Amber said. "If y'all wanna view it?"
---
There was a crowd gathered around Amber’s art piece. She did leave some tickets open in case her family showed up. Unsurprisingly, they did, but Collin gave her a speech all the same.

“Ladies and gentlemen, and others as well.” Collin. “Seems we have a winner. So why don’t we let the girl who made it tell us a bit about it, ey?”

Amber giggled a bit, and walked forward as the crowd clapped more. Collin asked what inspired her, and what it was about. “Well, it was about the chain I felt. In prison finally free. Like the bird. Honestly I… I’m glad people talked a lot about that.”

“We certainly did hear quite about that. I.. Um” Collin, and Amber gave him the go ahead. “I hear you don't have a place to call home?”

Amber grabbed the mic from him. “ I’m not. I ever had a place to call home. I had a house, sure. And this country girl plans on taking her lesson to this city, and staying.”

Collin took the mic back, and settled the crowd down. “Any plans beyond that?”

He asked, and dropped as Amber made out with him again. The crowd erupted one more time. And Amber pulled away from him with a smile she hadn’t shown off in forever. “Me and my boyfriend are gonna talk that over.”
