“No, Brandon.” Amber said. “I’m  not calling them back, and they know why. And you know why?... Do you? Because that last text of yours reads a lot differently than it use too… So don’t grow up if it means growing away from us then… yes, that is what you’re saying!” Amber signed. “Fine then what are you trying to say?.. I’ll consider being home in 2 weeks” She said, and hung up.

“What did he say?” Nina asked, as Renee jumped a bit. “It’s near soundproof, hun. We said as much. The boys just didn’t want to invade a girl’s privacy.”

“I um… it's complicated.” Amber said.

Nina closed the door. “When Collin first saw your work. He just knew you had to be in this contest. He must’ve looked at hundreds of others, but something about it just made him light up.”

“Well, thank you for pushing him then.” Amber said.

“Oh I didn’t push him.” Nina said. “His father did that.Mason never shows it, but he'll give great advice when he needs to.”

“Apple didn't fall far, I guess.” Amber replied. “Colin told me I need to show off a bit more. Brandon told me this isn’t the growing up you need to do.”
---
Dad I?... “ Collin said. “If I choose wrong—”

“If  you choose wrong I would tell you.” Collin’s dad said. “But right now? Couldn’t be prouder.”

Take a one in million chance, huh?” Collin asked.

“That’s my boy!” Collin’s dad said.

“But what if she chooses Brandon?” Collin asked. “What if taken?”

“That you back off and try again.” Collin said.
---
“Mason told… what did he say?” Amber asked.

“No idea,” Nina replied. “All I know is they walked into one room, and then walked with you as a section. So whatever my husband, must’ve been the right thing to say.”

“Even if it leads to me?” Amber replied.

“Especially because it lead you” Nina said.

“You know when your moth—” Mason paused as the girls walk out the room.

“So Collin? Were you lying to me?” Amber asked.

“What?! No, why would I be lying?”

“You said, and I quote. ‘I’ll tell you what made me stand out over dinner sometime.’” Amber said. “Well it's been 4 days mister, and I have to be given this dinner, I was promised.”

“I  can't be your watcher, and take you out to dinner, but I can when you win your in 3 days from now.” Collin chuckled. “And no I can’t, and won’t be helping you… but I might need up a few places."

“Are they going to be seafood places?” Amber asked.

“Are you allergic?” Collin replied.

“Nope, I just love seafood.” Amber said. “And the only thing I don't handle is nuts and spicy food.”

“I know a great tempura place then.” Collin replied. “Provide you don’t drink sake.”
